Meet Harriet

Onsite Drapery Cleaning was founded by Harriet Erskine-Joseph in 2007. Harriet started her career as a family seamstress making custom design clothing for neighborhood clients. Pursuing her passion for design and aesthetics, Harriet completed a degree in Fashion + Fine arts at FIT. She worked in fashion manufacturing and intimate apparels for several years before leaving the world of fashion to pursue her other passion — home décor. With an eye for color, proportionality and quality, Harriet succeeded as the lead manager providing in house personal home decorating services for two major corporations. In 2007, she decided to branch out on her own.

Harriet understands that providing a beautiful décor is just one part of the equation to a beautiful space. Maintaining and caring for the décor is just as important as the initial purchase and beautification process. That is exactly why we do what we do here. How often do you recommend cleaning my drapes?

Our recommendation is annual cleaning followed by vacuuming in six months. This is only if you do not burn candles often or lives on a high traffic street.

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Yes, we do offer pick up and delivery. We also offer takedown and re-hang. Please ask when you inquire about our services.

Are your cleaning products environmentally friendly?

Yes, we use environmentally friendly cleaning solutions, and we recycle whenever there's an opportunity.

What if I’m painting?

If you are painting it’s the perfect time to remove your window treatment and have Onsite Drapery clean them while the painting is in progress. Do not risk paint getting on your window treatments and ruin your investment. Never left window treatments installed while painting. What if I’m renovating?

How long does the cleaning process take?

It varies, it all depends on the level of soil in your window treatments. Heavy soil takes longer to clean.

Can you remove water stains?

We have had success in removing water stains. No two stains are the same and each out is different.

What method of cleaning do you use?

We use the injection extraction method of cleaning which means we first vacuum the dust off, then the solution is sprayed on it is extracted and is left for air drying.

Do you only offer on-site cleaning?

No! We offer both on-site cleaning and off premises cleaning. Let’s say you are renovating your home, we can come and remove your window treatments, haul them away, clean and store them until you are ready for us to return them.
